CGPS Takes Home The Gold at The Girls Adventures in Math Competition

By Jessica Merrick, Middle School math coordinator

Last Friday, April 12, thirty-two girls from grades 3-8 competed in the Manhattan Chapter of the Girls’ Adventures in Math (GAIM) competition. GAIM is a team-based competition that presents some of the most challenging and innovative math problems for students in this age group, contextualized in a comic book setting containing the stories of pioneering women from history. Overall, the evening was such a positive experience for all of our students who participated! CGPS girls won in both the elementary and middle school divisions. A special congratulations goes out to our fifth grade winners, Ariella A., Madeleine K., Alex K., Josie P., and our sixth grade winners, Sara E., Sabina L., and Kate W.
