In March, CGPS’s Prep School math department head Nathan Dummitt was nominated for a significant honor, a math master class, by Prep School art department head Lynn Schulte. Of the many nominees, Mr. Dummitt was chosen, along with 22 others to attend the Academy for Teachers Program’s Math Beats Memory: Creative Problem Solving, led by Carnegie Mellon University professor of mathematics Po-Shen-Loh.

The master class was attended by both private school and public school teachers.”It was great to meet and exchange ideas with teachers from all over the city and Po was a phenomenal speaker who shared his ideas about problem-solving and math competitions with passion and wisdom,” Mr. Dummitt explained.

Mr. Dummitt’s acceptance as an Academy Fellow offers him exclusive professional development opportunities, such as free lectures and eligibility for scholarships and fellowships. Congratulations Mr. Dummitt!
