Three Prep School Students Perform in NAfME Biennial All-Eastern Honors Choirs

From Thursday, April 4 through Sunday, April 7, three Prep School students participated in the National Association for Music Education's (NAfME) biennial All-Eastern Honors Choirs. Anna N. ’19 and Mia G. ’19 were selected to sing with the Treble Choir and Cameron B. ’19 was chosen for the Mixed Choir. The Eastern division of NAfME includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.Honors Choirs bring together exceptional high school singers  from all eleven states. All singers must first have been invited to participate in their respective All-State choirs before moving on to be considered for All-Eastern.

While the students participated in rehearsals leading up to a culminating final concert, Prep School music teachers Steve Davis and Kary Haddad also kept busy at the NAfME conference, which included professional development workshops, presentations of music education research and concerts from school music ensembles from around the eastern United States.
