4th Annual Prep School Coffee House Features Sign Language, Dance and Music

This year’s Prep School Coffee House, organized by the Student Government, showcased student performances across a range of talents. Performances included music -- everything from guitar solos to piano solos to a whole band performance -- to poetry, sign language and dance.

This year marked the 4th annual Coffee House, what has become one of the Student Government’s strongest traditions and most highly anticipated events. “Students have been working on their performances and the organization of the event for all of the second semester. Student Government has worked hard to get students to sign up, organize the space event and details, and planning the line-up,” Prep School dean Michelle Schackman explained. “Prep School events like this are so wonderful. It’s really a chance for students and faculty to connect outside of class, and the event really showcases the students’ natural talents.”

In addition, Prep School English teacher Dave Warshawski spearheaded the technical aspects of the show, making sure that the sound and lights ran smoothly and that the show was set to run without interruption. The club Battling Stereotypes also ran a bake sale to fundraise for their organization. Congratulations to all participants on a fun and successful night!
